Configuring Waiting Time

When an asset keeps in the waiting state for a specified time, its status becomes idle automatically. By default, the waiting time is set to 5 minutes. It is configurable for you to define the time length to reflect the actual operating time of an asset more accurately. Usually, the waiting time is included in the operating time.

The original intention of this feature is to cover the eventuality that a program can be running on an asset with the speed turned down to zero or an operator input required for an unlimited time and the asset is still displayed as operating when in fact it is idle.

To configure the waiting time for an asset before its status changes to idle, follow these steps.

  1. Log into the SFx Asset Management Portal with your Asset Administrator account.

  2. At the top right of the header, next to the Help icon, click on the Settings (AssetSettings_Icon.PNG) icon above the user profile.

  3. On the Asset Settings page, in the default Operational Status tab, type the numbers of minutes and seconds you want to set up.

  4. Click Save Changes.

    Tip

To set back to the default value (5 minutes), click Reset, and Save Changes.

Note

  • When set up, the value is applied to all assets in your organization.

  • This value affects the calculation of the operating time and the idle time in the Utilization chart and the OEE metrics, including Availability and Performance.
